PEP Primary School

Classroom project

Ages 6 to 11
Our Primary programme is built on the integration of the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), the SEP curriculum, and the Cambridge Primary curriculum, all brought together through Olinca’s educational approach.
We promote a well-rounded education that places equal value on academic excellence and personal growth, fostering reflection, a sense of community, and the development of key competencies across the socio-emotional, scientific, technological, and language-learning domains in both Spanish and English.
Our educational offering promotes bilingual learning and emphasizes the development of key skills through a holistic curriculum.

HOW DO OUR STUDENTS LEARN?

Our Methodology

img
PEP – BI Primary School Programme
In the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP), learning is experienced as an active, meaningful and deeply connected to the real world. Pupils not only acquire knowledge, but also develop skills, attitudes and values that prepare them to be reflective, caring and committed citizens. The programme is organised around a transdisciplinary curriculum, in which subjects are not taught in isolation but are integrated into units of inquiry that address relevant, global issues. These units encourage students to explore, question, investigate and construct their own knowledge, guided by thought-provoking questions and authentic challenges.

Specialist classes
Through key questions, pupils gradually define their areas of interest and, with guidance from their teacher and through conscious reflection on their learning processes, they develop theories about the world around them, how the world relates to them and what role they play in the bigger picture. This is complemented by specialised lessons in which they explore the arts, technology, personal development, wellbeing and sport.

Taking charge of their own learning
Students can express their ideas, collaborate with others and reflect on their learning process. The development of the attributes of the IB learning community profile – such as curiosity, empathy, integrity and open-mindedness – is encouraged in safe and stimulating environments. The aim is for them to understand how they learn, recognise their strengths and areas for improvement, and become independent learners.
