In our educational approach, your child takes an active role in their own learning journey

Our constructivist approach recognises each student’s individual and emotional needs, integrating them as an essential part of their academic growth and development.

Through curiosity, exploration and analysis, students transform information into meaningful learning, developing an understanding not only of the facts, but also of the reasons and processes behind them.

Olinca is a co-educational, secular school with an international outlook and a personalised approach to education. We aim to develop curious, critical, and thoughtful individuals who are committed to improving their communities by enriching their own lives and the lives of others. We do this within a respectful environment where students are at the centre of the learning process.

We offer a well-rounded education by fostering a commitment to high academic standards throughout our school community. We develop independent, open-minded students with a strong foundation in values and prepare them to thrive in an increasingly global world.

Since Olinca was founded in 1973, we have remained at the forefront of educational innovation. In the 1980s, we became pioneers in Mexico by incorporating the International Baccalaureate into our academic offering. We also introduced a community service programme from Kindergarten through High School and, more recently, integrated the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals across our academic programmes. In addition, Olinca is accredited to offer Cambridge Early Years and Cambridge Primary and became the first Cambridge Early Years centre in Mexico.

We continue to innovate by integrating robotics, coding, design, entrepreneurship, and STEAM workshops into our curriculum. We also use leading educational platforms that expand students’ access to knowledge and help them become confident and responsible digital learners.

International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme

The International Baccalaureate (IB) offers a comprehensive and globally recognised educational framework designed to develop young people who are critical thinkers, internationally minded, and deeply committed to society.

For education without borders.

At Olinca, we have been pioneers as the first Mexican school to join the International Baccalaureate (IB), since 1980. This decision has established us as an institution of global excellence, opening the doors to the best international universities for our students.

Olinca is authorised to offer three IB programmes: the Primary Years Programme (PYP), the Middle Years Programme (MYP), and the Diploma Programme (DP).

FOSTERING CURIOSITY

The Primary Years Programme (PYP) is designed for students aged 3 to 11.

The programme encourages students to:

  • Make choices and decisions

  • Use materials in flexible and imaginative ways

  • Investigate and ask questions

  • Work collaboratively with others and develop an understanding of themselves and the world around them.

Fostering Curiosity

The Middle Years Programme (MYP) is designed for students aged 11 to 16.

The programme encourages students to:

  • Ask thought-provoking questions

  • Learn how to learn

  • Develop a strong sense of their own identity and culture

  • Strengthen their ability to communicate with and understand people from different countries and cultures

Life Skills

The Diploma Programme (DP) is designed for students aged 16 to 19.

The programme encourages students to:

  • Develop the skills and qualities needed to pursue their studies at leading universities around the world.

  • Reach their full personal and academic potential by broadening their knowledge, strengthening their critical-thinking skills, and nurturing their creativity and individuality.

  • Develop a strong sense of their own identity and culture while strengthening their ability to communicate with others and respect the perspectives of people from different backgrounds, countries, and cultures

Olinca is accredited to offer Cambridge Early Years and Cambridge Primary at both campuses, making it the first Cambridge Early Years centre in Mexico.

The Cambridge International Curriculum sets a global standard for education and is recognised by universities and employers around the world.

Our approach is flexible, engaging, and inspiring, and is distinguished by its cultural awareness and international outlook. Cambridge students develop informed curiosity and a lasting passion for learning while acquiring the essential skills they need to succeed at university and in their future careers.

Fostering a Lifelong Love of Learning

Olinca graduates are well-rounded, critical thinkers equipped with the key life skills they need to achieve their goals while remaining committed to society and the environment. Our educational approach responds to today’s needs by fostering environmental awareness, developing essential competencies and skills, and providing the socio-emotional support students need to thrive.
We understand academic excellence as a process of continuous improvement. We maintain high standards without ever compromising student well-being.
Focused on educating for life, we prepare confident, socially and environmentally responsible students who can think critically, solve problems, and shape their own future

We achieve this through:

  • Integrated bilingual academic programmes (SEP–IB–Cambridge International / CCH–IB–Olinca).
  • Highly qualified teachers
  • Project-based learning rooted in the UN’s global goals
  • Technological resources
  • Institutional programmes that foster self-awareness, wellbeing, social commitment, care for the planet, and what it means to be Mexican and a global citizen (República Olinca, Conozca México, Human Development and Training, Environmental Workshops, National and International Exchanges, Academic Exchanges for Students, Teachers, and Staff)

  • Facilities featuring green areas, sports and play spaces, auditoriums, specialized project rooms, laboratories, and classrooms equipped with multimedia technology.

República Olinca

Olinca offers a one-of-a-kind academic programme that allows students to understand, learn about, and actively participate in the workings of a republic through the simulation of democratic elections and the operation of the three branches of government, reinforcing their civic and ethical education.

OLINMUN

A Model United Nations conference held in English, bringing together Secondary School and High School students from Mexico and abroad to debate current issues following official UN protocol.

We have had the honour of hosting distinguished speakers such as Felipe Calderón, Marcelo Ebrard, Senator Beatriz Paredes, Dr. Juan Ramón de la Fuente, Margarita Zavala, Dr. Leticia Bonifaz, Justice Margarita Beatriz Luna Ramos of Mexico’s Supreme Court, Dr. Miguel Ángel Mancera, Dr. José Antonio Meade, an Olinca alumnus, and Dr. Federico Reyes Heroles, among others.

Conozca México

We believe that developing a strong sense of identity also means understanding our roots.
That is why Conozca México is a fundamental part of our educational approach from Primary through High School.
Starting in Grade 3 of Primary School, our students take part in cultural trips to different states across Mexico, where they discover the country’s cultural, historical, and natural richness, strengthening their love for Mexico, its traditions, and its values. Learning about our country also helps us understand who we are.
Beyond the classroom, these experiences foster independence, empathy, and personal growth. The programme also encourages integration between our two campuses, allowing students to see themselves as one graduating class, build lasting bonds, and develop a genuine sense of community.
At Olinca, we think globally, but we also value and learn from our own culture and heritage. We are all part of Mexico.

Action and Service

Drawing on more than four decades of experience in socio-emotional education, students receive strong guidance that helps them understand themselves, recognise their role as global citizens, and take meaningful action to improve their own lives and the lives of others.

At Olinca, we bring universal values to life through 15 community service programmes. These include visits to care homes for older adults, activities with young people with disabilities, English and technology classes at public primary schools, home improvement projects in underserved communities, and activities with children receiving hospital care, among others.

National and International Outreach Programmes

These programmes broaden our students’ education through academic, cultural, and community-building experiences beyond the classroom.

From developmental camps in Primary School, grade-wide gatherings, and domestic trips to international exchanges, Model United Nations conferences, and academic experiences with organisations such as NASA, these programmes strengthen independence, leadership, global awareness, and a strong sense of community.

We believe that learning also means exploring, connecting with others, and engaging with the world with a strong sense of identity and purpose.
